Addicting Un-turtle Bars
This is one of my favorite times of the year, Christmas baking time! I love to bake all sorts of yummies and then throw them in the freezer to enjoy and share with family and friends around Christmas time.

These un-turtle bars have been a staple in our house for several years. I remember the first time I made them I was so amazed at how easy they were to make. They are called un-turtles because they are like a deconstructed Turtle (you know those yummy caramel, chocolate and pecan goodies?) I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
So here we go,
2 cups Flour
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup Butter
1 cup pecan halves
2/3 cup butter
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Beat together flour, sugar and 1/2 cup butter.
Press firmly into ungreased 9″x 13″ pan.
Arrange pecans over crust. Combine remaining butter and brown sugar in saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring constantly for 1 minute.
Pour over pecans. Bake 15-20 minutes, or until bubbly.
Sprinkle chocolate chips over top, let stand for 3 minutes and then spread the chocolate.
Cool completely and cut into small squares. Yummy!
Makes 40 squares.
