Spring Break Travels Part 1 (Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump)

Spring Break Travels Part 1 (Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump)

This week the kids and I are taking in some of the sights and spending some time with family in Alberta. One of the places we have gone to so far is called Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump.

It was amazing! Especially the ages our kids are at right now (13,11 &8) they were really able to appreciate and understand most of it.

There is the interpretive center where there is a bunch of replicas and museum-like information; and there are a few outdoor areas which you can check out the actual site of the cliff that the buffalo fell/jumped off of.

Kids were amazed at how far they could see.  Although the girls said they prefer being surrounded by mountains.  🙂

Lots of information to absorb but they have a very interesting video about the yearly cycle.

Hanging out in the teepee.

So far this trip has been pretty darn fun and informative!

Check back later this week and I’ll tell you more about our night sleeping with dinosaurs!

Update: Part 2 of our trip can be found HERE and Part 3 is HERE.

Disclaimer: All thoughts and opinions are my own, I have not been compensated in anyway for this post, I just think it’s a really cool place!

Please feel free to ask any questions in the comments.
