Copper and glass and globes are all some of the thrift store finds I have come across for my home.

Thrifty Thursday Nov 2021

It has been awhile since we’ve done a thrifty Thursday post! If you haven’t seen one here before, Thrifty Thursdays are where I shared my most recent scores from thrift stores, second-hand stores and antique shops.

I have been really working on adding an “Old World” feel to our home with carefully curated home decor finds rather than buying cheap crap from the regular home stores.

FYI: I have not been paid or perked for this post. All opinions are my own.

I got inspired mostly while watching Youtube videos done by Angela on her channel The Parisienne Farmgirl as well as Shaye of The Elliott Homestead. Watching their videos with snippets of their homes reminded me of my year living abroad and the feeling of European homes and building that have been around for generations. It is slowly coming together in my own home and that is ok.

When we had some friends over a little while ago, I was showing off the new paint I had done on the walls in our master bedroom and the friend commented that our room looked “romantic and old worldish” which completely made my day as that was exactly the vibe I was going for!

Anyways, on to the thrifty finds!

I have a few collections going now and I like to try and collect things with different natural materials like wood, ceramic, and glass and metals like copper and brass (nothing plastic!).

I’ve also upped my game with hardcover vintage books. I was so happy to score these two blue vintage hardcover cookbooks! That is the ultimate score for me!

I have had a blast looking through the cookbooks and the one below I am really excited about. What better book for a homesteading and homemaking loving mama like myself than a book about feasts for all seasons! I’ve shared a few of the inner pages below.

As I’ve been working on adding a bit of French farmhouse flair, the transferware, copper mold, brass kettle with a glass flower arranging frog inside are perfect. I can’t wait to use the two glass frogs I found, this summer with fresh flowers from the garden!

copper, brass and glass are great thrift store finds!
More vintage cookbooks I discovered 🙂

Below are a couple of pics of part of our dining room where I have been slowly adding to my copper collection. And you can see some more little bits of updating that I’ve done in the living room as well.

Most of the antique, vintage and thrift store finds and were discovered on a quick girls trip to Kimberley B.C. at either the Old Crow Emporium or at the sweetest second hand book shop in Kimberely. The statue, glass flower frogs and brass kettle were found at Share Nelson in Nelson B.C.

I hope you have a lovely rest of your day!

Cheers,

Sam
